PIXMA TR8520 Failed to connect to the wireless router error

I recently got a new router — a Halney through Zito Media, with an eero device, whatever that is.  At any rate, I am not able to program my printer to the wifi.  If “finds” the network name, but will not connect to it saying “Error. Failed to connect to the wireless router. Follow the steps below. 1. Check that the selected wireless router is correct. 2. Check that the entered passphrase is correct. 3. Restart the wireless router. If the sam error occurs, see the wireless router manual and check the settings.”  These are the steps I went through:

Since your printer has a screen you can connect it manually to your router. The SSID is a broacast name. It does not connect or find your printer, the printer has to find the router and this is the guide to do that. Step 7 should see the router name (SSID)

You can see from my photos I am doing EXACTLY what you have posted.  It never takes me to the screen to enter the password — it says it is connecting and then fails.  What am I missing?

If you are getting as far as manual connect, and you choose that the SSID of your router should show up. You do not type it in, the printer as show here:

You should not need to reinstall the software.

This is one example of why connecting with a USB cable is a good troubleshooting and backup connection tool.

Greetings,

Many newer eeros routers come pre-configured to use WPA3 encryption.  The printer does not support this security standard.  Please ensure the 2.4Ghz broadcast is using WPA2 encryption.  (Whether Haley or eero)

More info about your hardware can likely be found here.
