PIXMA TR4722 won't scan to computer via network

Good morning,

I was having a similar issue this person was having so I removed the older drivers and installation software completely, reinstalled them and set up went fine. I can do a lot over the network such as print from my computer, print from my phone, scan from the printer to my phone using the canon app. The one thing I can't do which is what I need, is to scan from the printer to my computer via the network. The printer won't even scan from printer to computer with the usb cord! It is a brand new printer purchased in August 2025 and the Dell purchased at the end of 2024 or beginning of 2025. The printer just says "computer not connected" every time I try to fiddle with it to scan from it. I have a Dell Inspiron 15 w/ windows 11. I attached a photo of the drivers and software I reinstalled today. One thing I noticed is that when I first installed the canon printer, 2 things were there. Canon series, Canon FAX. Not sure that helps. I did check for capabilities of scanning feature once I installed the master and since it didn't work I proceeded to install the scan specific software. I have restarted computer and printer numerous times.

I called Canon tech support and spoke to Andy who was incredible! The “computer not connected” issue is simple.

The option for scan was auto configured to USB so he has me go through some clicks on the printer to get back to “Dessa Dell” as the default. Scans fine now! And he showed me how to use the utility tool to scan multi duplex with the Pixma TR4722 which usually only scans one side.

Greetings,

When you connect devices using multiple interfaces (wireless, usb, ethernet, etc.), It often causes issues.  I suggest you pick one interface and stick with it.  The printer does not support using multiple interfaces simultaneously.  Have you looked at the scanner selector to see what device is selected.  You may see more than one entry if you've tried multiple connection methods.  Do you receive an error message when you try to scan to the computer.  What is it?  Have you verified the destination folder permissions to ensure you have right access.

I did not use multiple scan methods initially although when scanning was working fine, I did have the USB option plugged in that whole time and didn't have issues... I only utilized the plugged in USB after wireless stopped working and then found out that didn't work either. So I would prefer wireless if it will work- which is what we need to figure out.

I don't know what you mean by scanner selector- please advise so I can check.

Yes and no on the error code- I try to scan and the printer just says "Computer not connected"

I don't know about the destination folder- can you advise?

Wifi is set up just fine FYI
