PIXMA MX920 Scanner Driver Needed for macOS Sequoia

BigT1960

We have owned a Canon MX920 printer for several years.  This Christmas my children gifted us with an 24” Apple iMac running Sequoia 15.3.  I downloaded the drivers required for the printer.  The printer is connected to our network via WiFi and prints perfectly from all our devices.  The issue we have is the scanner does not work.  Previously the printer was connected via USB cable to our old computer and the scanner worked properly.  I downloaded the IJ software, but do not see any icons whatsoever. When I select SCAN on the printer control panel, the display shows “PC Local (USB)  Doc. Type - auto scan”.  I then press the BLACK to scan and the “! Set the PC to start scanning” is displayed.  Is the printer configured for USB and thus will not print via WiFi?  If so, how and where do I change this?  I have fooled with this issue for several weeks and I am at a loss as how to get it going.  Dues to the limitation of ports on the computer, I would rather not go back to using the USB cable.  Thanks, Tony

Hi BigT1960,

The PIXMA MX922 is not supported with macOS v15 (Sequoia).

You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Monday through Saturday, 9am to 9pm. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.

NO YOU DON"T NEED TO BUY A NEW PRINTER.

They would tell you need to Canon's Upgrade Program so they can make more money out of you. You can download free software NAPS2 which works or you can buy VueScan which I think it a rip off. Both work on macOS Sequoia or higher.

Let's Reduce Landfill Waste.

Also do a Lan reset on the printer and then Mac OS X should able to print using CUPS drivers

Thanks Andrewvideo for your reply.  The NAPS2 software did the trick.  After 8 months I had just decided the Canon MX922 scanner was out of service forever.  I was surprised someone answered my post this late.  This printer is used daily by my wife on eBay and ETSY sales.  It has been a real workhorse for her.  Again TY and God Bless for your help. Tony
