First, please uninstall all Canon programs. To do this, please disconnect the USB cable if you are using one and then follow these steps:
1. Please press the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter R, then let both go.
2. In the Run window that appears, please type CONTROL and click OK.
3. In Control Panel, please click on Uninstall a program.
4. A list of installed programs will appear. Click on the first Canon program in the list and then click on Uninstall/Change at the top.
5. Follow the on screen prompts to uninstall the program.
6. Repeat until all Canon programs are removed.
Please close all of those windows once complete.
1. Please press the Windows key on your keyboard and the letter R, then let both go.
2. In the Run window that appears, please type CONTROL and click OK.
3. In Control Panel, please click on View devices and printers.
4. Click on Printers & Scanners.
5. If there is a MX490 in the list, please click on it. In the new window, click Remove.
6. Repeat until all MX490's are removed.
Next, we will download the latest driver.

2. Choose Windows and Windows 11 from both drop down boxes.
3. Click the Download button to the right of "Print Driver and Scan Utility Installer Ver.1.02 (Windows)". A file will download.
4. Once the download is complete, please open your Downloads folder.
5. Click on the file that you just downloaded, "mp68-win-mx490-1_02-ea33_3.exe".
6. Follow the onscreen prompts to install.
