Hi All,
I'm trying to install the drivers for the printing and scanning function on a new Windows Surface laptop running Windows 11 via canon.com/ijsetup. But at the end of the process I'm only getting a message saying "MP drivers not installed". Does anyone know what to do here?
Also, I tried to download drivers a week ago but only got the L shaped icon with no text in it. Now I'm trying to start fresh and remove all the files from last week, but there are a few that I can't remove because when I try this through windows settings, I just get an error message that they can't be removed because I don't have the uninstall app. Any thoughts on that? Could that be related to the problem with getting the drivers installed? The whole thing worked fine on my old Surface laptop but not on the new one.
Can anyone help me solve these mysteries?

Greetings ,
One quick question. Does your Surface Pro have an ARM based processor?
Driver s for the MX 492 can be downloaded from the Canon USA website at the link below.
If you are having issues adding or removing software from your computer, the following Microsoft install / uninstall troubleshooter may help.

Thanks, shadowsports and sorry for the delay in responding.
I'm one step further now, but the set up is still not complete.
I was able to remove all Canon software and reinstall it. The Microsoft troubleshooter didn't work, but to my surprise Windows 11 now allows removal. Maybe a fix in their latest update.
I also installed the Canon Quick Menu, but it is empty in that the print and scan options don't show up. ImageGarden is now visible, though, but the printer doesn't show up for selection.
I also tried to install the printer drivers from your link, but after going through the motions, it laconically ends with a message "MP Driver has not been installed". I disabled the firewall, ran as an adminstrator, restarted, but no joy.
Note that I can print through the Windows print function, but not through the Canon Quick Menu, and I also cannot scan (which is the only thing I want to add).
Any thoughts?
I really appreciate your help.
