I have a perfectly good working MX470, nothing wrong with it and fairly new ink in it. My laptop broke the screen unhooked off the rest of it (and no I did not drop it). Until I get a new laptop a friend gave me her HP Windows 11 laptop to use. It is only about 2 yrs old & she just never used it. It recognizes the printer but it says the driver is not there. On the canon website it says it does not have it there anymore. I have tried everything I know to get these drivers and wanted to know if anyone can help. I finally found a site that had it seems but windows 11 made me take it out of S mode and I know you cannot revert back. Then in trying to install it now says it needs some MP drivers. I have never had this issue before and been using computers and printers for 25 years. HELP

Looks like you can get W10 driver here. W10 drivers frequently work well with W11.

Looks like you can get W10 driver here. W10 drivers frequently work well with W11.

I have the same issue, but it seams that the above link does not work anymore. I get an error when clicking on the link you mentioned. do you know if there is another solution? printer is working perfect so i do not want to replace it because I moved to windows 11

Hi there! I am having the same issue. I have a new laptop and was trying to download a new driver for my Pixel MX 472 printer. The links say that I don't have MP drivers installed and then it says that "New Port Cannot be Created" and it won't allow me to finish installing the driver.
Any idea on where I can get the driver for the MX 472 printer?

I would suggest removing the failed installation from your device. Start by removing the failed printer instance and any drivers or utilities from programs and features. These two steps are very important.
Now restart your computer and visit the following site

Note, If you continue to experience problems with the "cannot create port error", let us know. I will provide alternate steps.

Hi Rick!
Thank you for your response. I clicked on the link and scrolled through the list of downloads and downloaded "MX470 series XPS Printer Driver Ver. 5.75 (Windows)". When I opened up the download, the above message pops up. When I click OK, it then tells me that "XPS Printer Driver has not been installed" and tells me to click FINISH to exit the setup program.

I had the same issue. Looking into it further, the XPS is an advanced driver. You want the normal MP driver. Look for the download simply labeled "Print Driver and Scan Utility Installer." Hope that helps.
