PIXMA MX410 connectivity: Support Code 300, printer does not respond

I am using a Tmobile wireless internet modem to connect to WIFI. It works fine and I can print from my Mac Mini Desktop computer. But my Macbook Air, which is connected to the same modem and same wireless network, will not print out. I get a popup that says "Support Code: 300 the printer does not respond. Make sure that it's plugged in, powered on and properly connected to your computer".  (it is all three)

PIXMA MX410 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!
