Hello,
I was recently gifted a much need Cannon Pixma MG6120. PIXMA MG6120 has been retired. Product support is no longer available. Driver and content updates are not being made. Does anyone know if/where I can get the software and updates? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Amanda

Thanks for posting!
While our Forum Community members are welcome to chime in, the Canon PIXMA MG6120 has been retired. That means we do not offer support for the printer or updated drivers. We recommend updating to a more modern printer and reaching out to our Canon Upgrade Program specialist who will go over the best options for upgrading your printer. They can be reached at 866-443-8002.

Not being the original owner and having access to the software makes it useless. That seems like such a waste for a product that is perfectly capable of working. They just don't allow for good products to last a long time. That seems very wasteful to me.

I completely agree! I've been using the MG6120 for many years. It's held up well, produces very good photos on photo paper. The only drawback is that it sucks up ink, which is very expensive to replace for the quantity you get. Cannon discontinuing updates and availability to be used with my MAC is a travesty. I just bought $180 of ink to last me a while only to find out that I CAN NOT USE this printer. This just plain STINKS. At least, provide one additional update, which will last, so we can use it, instead of needing to buy a new printer, when it isn't really necessary.

You can find the drivers here;
However, so far after loading the right driver, I get an error message that there is no driver when I try to add it. Good luck. Jim

Yeah. That's the rub... any and all drivers, that I've tried, are out of date and do not work.
As far as I'm concerned. CANNON SUCKS. I will NEVER purchase any of their products EVER AGAIN!
If you CANNOT RELY on them and their products to work for the long term, there is no reason to buy their products. And yes, I am that POed.

My computer consultant found a driver for windows 10 which will work on windows 11. I was goi to attach it in a zip file, but apparently I cannot attach here. It works on my MG6120.
