PIXMA MG3620 unable to connect

When trying to connect my printer to internet, I hold down the Wi-Fi button but the ON lamp never flashes as it says it's supposed to and i cannot find out how to connect another way. What do i do?

insert the cartridges first and then restart the printer.i just did the same

Please make sure that the ink cartridges are installed and the front cover is closed.

Insert a few sheets of paper and perform a test page to make sure that the printer is working:

Please hold down the STOP button until the Error light blinks 1 time, then release it immediately

If the page prints, continue with wireless setup.
