I just purchase (from Amazon) a Pixma MG3620. I am trying to install it on an iMac 21.5, operating on OS Monterey version 12.1. My browser if Firefox. I purchased this printer based on a good rating in Consumer Reports and have now spent 2 hours trying to get it to work. I purchased this specifically because it was supposed to be wireless. The router is right next to the printer, no other devices in the apartment are having any problem connecting to the network, but the printer is not seen during setup. As someone else commented, I had a very reliable HP printer, but it died after (apparently) getting banged around a bit during a move. I am regretting not buying another HP, but I allowed the CR rating and the price to sway me. Now I'm stuck trying to follow poorly written instructions and hard to see pictures.

The first thing you have to do is connect the printer to your network. https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/content/faq/?itemid=tcm:14-1239802
You cannot expect your MAC to find any device (other than a hotspot or a router) without first adding it to a network. If a printer was a hotspot everyone could print to it as they picked it up on their phone or tablet. Connecting it to a router means only devices on your network have access to print.
