Hello. I noticed that I am not the only one having issues with this printer hooking up with their computer. I also noticed there has not been a posted solution to the problem other than calling someone for help. Now, this printer worked just fin with my home computer. Unfortunately, my home computer improperly updated and I seemed to have lost everything. While waiting for the ability to pay someone to restore said computer, I am using my work laptop. It does not recognize the model of my printer and I really need to print documents from home. Please help. Thank you.

For anyone reading with the same problem, here is the solution:
I called 1-800-OK CANON....this printer is NOT compatible with a Chromebook. Wish I would have read that in any one of the responses I read.
