PIXMA GX1020 - Won't Connect to Computer

I purchased a new Canon GX 1020 Printer and have spent over a day trying to enable printer on my Dell computer. Very frustrating until I saw this is a common complaint of purchasers. I need help getting the printer online. Thank you, Ron
