Hey HI im hoping someone can help me.
I bought my Canon G650 about two years ago (I think) unboxed it and installed no problem.
At a later date I had reason to reinstall Windows 10. Having done so I can to installing my printer and the Canon software won't install.
First off my PC sees the printer and i can print from the application i am using, for example word/excel etc. But i particularly want to canon software. So when i downloaded it and tried to install it, it won't get beyond looking for the printer, claiming it can't find any printer. So after canceling the failed installation, i then went back to my application to see if i can still print from them. Yes I can.
So I have a wireless printer my PC can see, that i can use using any application. but I cant install the canon software.
Can anyone help me please, i am beyond frustrated.
Thx Mark

Is this the driver that you installed:
PIXMA G650 - Canon Europe (canon-europe.com)

Yes. Canon G650. The date on the driver would have been earlier when I first bought it, but on the second time round it would have probably been updated.

Go to Control Panel->Devices and Printers and check what you see:
Double click the printer icon and see what the properties are:

Hello!
Please bear in mind that I work for Canon USA, and we do NOT support your product; however, the current install "disc" version can be found on the Canon install site HERE. It will uninstall whatever software/drivers you have on your system and re-install them. It should solve this, but if not, you may need to contact support in your region by visiting Canon Global

So i ‘removed’ the printer via Control Panel, and even removed it from my router.
I then started the software installation from the beginning and still no joy. I used the link above the was sent to me, as well as going direct to Canon’s website.
So I manually connected the printer back to the router. Tried the install process again, still no joy. Then went to add printer into Control Panel and added the printer again. The computer found it, I ran a test page and the printer worked. Tried the installation software and it couldn’t find the printer despite it being found by the pc. So I guess for now I have a working printer without the fancy software that comes with it. It’s a shame but never mind. 🤷♂️
