New Modem has made it impossible to connect to printer - no option to enter a new Wifi Password HELP

We just got a new modem and after that we learned our printers were unable to connect to the network.

 

We bought a new one thinking that would solve it but it didn't.

 

In settings when we select the modem it bypasses the password entry screen and tells us failed to connect.

It's a Pixma 4520

 

Any ideas?

If the answer could be found there we wouldn't all be posting the problem.  It is not confined to one specific model.  It has something to do with new modems but so far none of you techies have come up with a simple solution!  

We're not techies, just users trying to help fellow users. 

I guess you'll have to keep trying; maybe with a better attitude.
