Network Printing Doesn't Work

jbloomca2

Hi. New owner here. I have PIXMA 7020. I use Windows 10. Printer is on a home wifi network. I am using it infrequently (a couple pages a couple of times a week). My computer is located in a different room from the printer. Printer goes to sleep when not in use, but when I want to print from my computer, it never seems to wake up. Sometimes the print queue window shows it is offline, sometimes it just gives me an error. The Canon print monitor window shows it is gathering printer information, but it never shows that it is offline. Sometimes I can get it to print by tapping the power button, sometimes by cycling power off/on. It's never consistent and I often have to make multiple trips to the printer to try different things.

I'm very disappointed in my purchase, since the reviews I read were all very complimentary.
