My Selphy app updated a few days ago and when I went to try to use it today it doesn't work at all. Just freezes the screen. I've tried restarting everything (phone, printer, etc), tried deleting the app and reuploading it, tried resetting the printer, nothing. It's basically unusable. I'm wondering if anyone else had this problem and was able to fix it or if there is something I'm missing about the upgrade? I have a Selphy 1500 and I use an Iphone that while it's aging, the specs say it should still work. thanks!

My app is also still not working (I'm the original poster of the question). I've been working around the app by printing straight from my photos app but its really frustrating to not be able to use any of the collage and layout functions and it makes it so I can't even get a border on the pics I print. I've tried to find alternative collage apps but none do what the old app did, so I haven't found a stand-in that I'm happy with. I looked at the app store for the Selphy app and new reviews continue to pour in with unhappy people saying their app no longer works. Not sure what the deal is. Doesn't seem right that everyone with this product just sort of has to wait with no idea of when it will work again.

I'm the original poster and still haven't had any news on fixes and my printer still doesn't work like it used to. I'm unable to use the app at all on either my phone or my brand new ipad and it's been weeks and weeks—I can only print directly from photos which takes away all formatting options. So yes, still waiting for a fix and feeling very frustrated.

kjhayes is spot on. The app got updated for the first time in a year and took what was once a good product and rendered it useless. Call Canon and some lady will tell you how to print without the app, but you can't control anything about the printing size or tweak any of the settings that way. Basically, without the running app working, your $124 printer is a worthless brick. More atonishing is how little concerned Canon appears to be about a previously highly-successful product. No notices that they're working on it, no apologies. Nearly a month later and no one can print with a printer that thousands of people own. It's a disgrace to Canon's name.

Not sure why no one is concerned that thousands of customers are upset that they spent $124 dollars on a printer and over $35 more dollars on ink and maybe $45 more on batteries for a product that because of an terrible app update doesn't work anymore.

How difficult is it? Just fix and update the app. OR better yet -- give us the choice of the old or new update. We all want the old one back.

just spent 2 hours trying to figure this out with no success. upgraded my app and cannot get my iphone to stay connected to the printer-- it loses connection and/or the printer stops broadcasting the selphy network. I was using this to make a book for an event and I need to finish it this weekend, but the printer is basically useless to me now

I hear you and continue to have the same problems. I've been working around their app by using a third party collage app and then printing directly from photos, which still works. If you aren't collaging your photos and you are printing them regular size, you can print directly from photos at least which is better than not using the printer at all. Just go to your photos app, click on the pic you want to print, make sure your printer is on, and then print to that printer. It does work even if it's not nearly as good as the old app. And it continues not to work for making collages.

I also have SELPHY 1500 using it with my iPhone with no issues until the App update - now it just hangs up for minutes and then sometimes kicks me out or gives me and error when I try to print 4 pics only 1 shows up. I’ve tried logging in and out and no change
