MacBook Air can't complete set up of pixma mg3520

I have been trying to connect the printer to my Mac air for 3 days now. Every time, I press download, I am told that I should contact canon because the "app" is out dated. what does that even mean?

What version of MacOS is  your computer running and also, are you trying to download the printer driver from usa.canon.com?

I have version 11.5.2. and yes I have been typing canon.com/ijsetup
