MF8050CN not printing pdf with Windows 11

Hi,

I am experiencing program shutdown when trying to print pdf.  I can print Word, Excel, or non-pdf files.  When I open a pdf with Adobe Reader (free version) or any other program (Edge, Brave, Chrome...) it will read but soon as I print to my networked MF8050CN it just closes program and never prints.  I have other machines that use the printer on the network with no issue.  Looking for solution.  Adobe site has a few work arounds that I cannot find a resolution with things like print as image, changing security and document settings in EDIT>PREFERENCES section. Not sure what else, no live person will talk with me.

I see these two drivers for MF8050cn under OS Windows 10 (no drivers under OS Windows 11) one from 2016 and the other one from 2015:

Windows 11 has no 32-Bit OS version. The new operating system from Microsoft is the first one to not have a 32-bit version. So the driver from 2016 won't install. Your reply states "the OS selection will say Windows 10 but it will work on Windows 11". Your suggestion doesn't seem to work.

I cannot print on my MF8050cn from my new PC which came with Windows 11 pre-installed. It seems like the printer has been rendered useless at this point. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO GET MY WINDOWS 11 PC TO PRINT ON MY MF8050cn??

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The imageCLASS MF8050Cn is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

I was having the same issue. Resolved by changing Spooling at host from Automatic to Enabled.

In Windows, Bluetooth and Devices, Canon MF printer, Device Settings. Change Spooling at host from Automatic to Enabled.

I fixed that on the PDF document by going to MENU > Preferences >.Security (Enhanced) > unchecking "Enable Protected Mode at startup

Idiotic to have such an arcane setting hang things up, but that's modern tech crapification for you.
