MF743Cdw Cannot Update firmware over Network Connection on Mac

I can print and scan, but when I try to update the firmware I get this error. "Could not update the firmware. The USB cable may be unplugged or the device is turned off." 

I have tred to directly connect using USB but I cannot get it to connect so I am trying again with the network connection.

I have a static IP address for the printer.

Hello Edanastas, That image looks like it is from the firmware update tool. The tool would need you to connect the printer to the Mac with a USB cable so it can update the firmware. To update the firmware using your network connection, you can perform an update using the printer's operation panel.
