LBP6240 No printer driver for Windows11 ARM64?

Chibibell

Hi,

I am running Windows 11 ARM64 edition on my PC and I need to use a Canon laser printer LBP6240.

But I can't find any compatible driver.

What can I do?

Greetings,

Systems with ARM based processors.  Very power efficient, but they also come with compatibility nightmares.

I'd return or exchange for an Intel based system if you can.  Your printer woes are only the beginning.

Here is a list of Canon Printers currently supported under ARM:

Thanks for joining the conversation, Chibibell!

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using.  We've dug deep and haven't been able to find a Canon printer with the model number you mentioned.  It's possible that might be the reason you're unable to find a driver, so we recommend double-checking that information. That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

If this is a time-sensitive matter, click HERE search our knowledge base or find additional support options HERE.

Thanks and have a great day!

Windows 11 ARM64 has limited driver support. Try using Windows Update to check for a generic driver or install the printer via Windows' built-in drivers. If that doesn’t work, you might need a third-party ARM64 print driver or a print server as a workaround.

The only information I can get about the model is:

From the printer internal home page: Satera LBP6240
From the label on the back of the printer: Only a serial number starting by NTQA
From the front side of the printer : Satera LBP6240

I bought this printer in Japan (where I live) and it is said to be for Japan market only (but I found drivers for Windows10 Intel CPU on European and other Asian sites from Canon, so it seems it's sold in other countries too))

In fact, I need to use this printer mainly on a Windows11 run through Parallels Desktop Pro on a MacMini with M2 Pro chip. So, I'm afraid I have no choice but to use Windows 11 ARM64 because it's the only compatible Windows.

In fact, it seems that this printer is presently referenced only on the Japan site of Canon.
Presently, I can't find any information about this printer outside Japan.

Ah, yeah that's tricky, Canon doesn't offer ARM64 drivers for a lot of their older printers, including the LBP6240. You could try using it through a networked Windows x64 machine that shares the printer, or maybe try a generic PCL driver if available. Otherwise, sadly, might need to consider a more compatible printer.
