Was able to work with MP550 printer on windows 10 but when upgrading to windows 11 and new laptop Lenovo Amda Ryzen 7000 series unable to get printer to operate. It does pick up the printer in settings but cannot execute print commands requesting missing drivers. When requesting drivers from canon website it indicate zero available.

Greetings ,

The MP550 was released 16 years ago and is not officially supported under Windows 11.  You can try using an earlier driver but there's no guarantee that they will be compatible or fully functional.

It might be time to retire this model and consider replacing it with newer, more modern printing technology.

Hi, yes meybe i can help you. Save the driver from Canon support pages for windows 10. On yor new PC with Windows 11, on the saved file use right button mouse and select properties. Select run in compatibility mode and select the last windows system that offers it. (For me it was Win8) Install the driver, when it says that the printer was not recognized, select the port manually and select LPT1. Complete the installation. Then in the settings - printers open the sw of the installed driver and on the ports tab, change from LPT1 to USB. Print a test page, if it prints and is readable then everything will work. Bye Jiri.
