IJ Scan Utility - Don't want a date added to the file name.

I recently purchased a Lide 300 scanner. I'm happy with it, but there's something that iritates me in the IJ Scan Utility. Even though I have made sure every "Save to a subfolder with current date" box is NOT checked in the settings, it still adds the date to the file name when it saves. It's a complete waste of time to enter the file name I want when it saves if I still have to go in and delete the date from the file name.

Is there a way to make it stop? What am I missing? Please help me!

I have not found a way to stop that. I think it is a protection step to avoid inadvertently overwriting a file if the same name is used.

Couldn't agree more. I scan about a dozen documents per week and I do not want/need the date of my scan included in the file name! (Note that I DO INCLUDE the appropriate date within the filename of nearly everything that I scan). And I do not want multiple folders within my "2024_personal" or "2025_personal" folder -- I just want to see all the files within the appropriate folder.

PLEASE, Canon, remove the requirement to append the scan date/time within the filename or create a new folder! Just write the file as specified to the intended folder. As a software developer I know that it is not terribly difficult to simply pop up a warning if the filename already exists in the intended folder so that the user can choose to "over write" the file or change the file name. If there's another version of the "Canon IJ Scan Utility Lite" that can be purchased that provides this capability I'd be willing to spend a reasonable amount of money to have that feature.
