Suddenly, my hard wired Canon MF455dw keeps announcing that it has a new IP address: 10.0.0.xxx
Of all the devices connected to the router I'm using, this Canon printer is the only one that constantly renegotiates its IP address with the DHCP server. Why is this? How do I stop it from doing that?

Hello,
If the DHCP assigned address keeps changing, you can go into the network settings on the display and set a static address for the printer. You can use the steps in the link HERE to set the address. To check your network environment and see what might be causing the address to change, I would suggest contacting support over the phone at 1-800-652-2666. Our agents would be happy to help.

It takes another step after setting a static IP address on the printer.
You have to set the router to reserve that address outside of DHCP. This can be for the printer alone, or an IP range reserved for static devices. Depends on your router. Ask whoever made or supports your router.
