Canon G4210 Will not communicate over wifi. Canon Wifi connection assistant finds it right away, I click on it, hit next, then "The signal strength between the computer and the wireless router is weak" which is BS because I have full strength and am right next to the router. It says computer strength 0% and printer strength 100%. So I thought the router wasnt allowing communication between it, but I talked to Linksys and Starry (who controls it) and they say its not their thing. The router app sees the printer perfectly. But something is legit not allowing me to communicate with this printer. I can't connect Ad-hoc as well. I used to be able to airprint to it with my Mac or my iphone now i cant. I have a windows tablet that used to work too, doesnt work over wifi now either. If I connect anything with USB it works perfect. Ive tried everything, one time i reset the page counter thingy to 0, and that worked for a week. Next time it didnt work anymore. PLZ HALP!

Greetings,
You may find this information helpful. The printer requires a 2.4Ghz broadcast that supports WPA/WPA2 encryption. Its compatible with most brands/model routers as long as it supports this network standard.
This is important and specific to Starry. Starry's routers use a dual band configuration, 2.4/5G using the same SSID name.
Dedicated 5GHz Networks – Starry Support
I would suggest you do as they suggest and separate the broadcasts. Whatever you'd like to name them is fine. MyStarry5G, MyStarry2.4. If this is a ISP issues device, you can use the Starry App to configure this.
Connect your MAC, TV, or any device that will take advantage of the higher performing 5Ghz bandwidth. Connect slower devices, like the printer, a wireless thermostat, etc to the 2.4Ghz broadcast.
Something to be mindful of. 5G networks support higher bandwidth, but have less range. 2.4Ghz broadcasts are slower but have farther range (reach). It doesn't matter how a device connects to the network, wired or wirelessly to the 2.4 or 5G broadcasts. They can all communicate with one another unless isolation between networks is enabled. Linksys routers only support Guest Network isolation.
Starry has other helpful knowledge info found here:
Starry Station: Starry Station: Advanced Settings - Network Configuration – Starry Support
You should be able to confirm or do all of this from the Starry App if the router was issued by them. If the Linksys is your own device, you can log into its admin portal and make the changes there.
Your image indicates the printer sees a strong wireless broadcast within its proximity. It doesn't mean its associated.
You talked to Starry and Linksys and they say "it's not them". Well if their device is broadcasting both networks using the same name, it might explain why the printer can't connect to the unsupported network. Try giving each a unique name and report the results.

Hi Rick,
This was one of the first things they adjusted. Although it worked for a year with that router on just one ssid, we changed it to have seperate ones and i connected to the 2.4 on both the devices and, obviously, the printer, and it still doesnt let me communicate with it. This is new. It decided to do it on its own. It was fixed once by resetting the page count, then a week later stopped again. But the wifi chip on it works fine. And like that app shows. It can be connected to, but it literally says "offline" to every device.
