My Wi-Fi router broke so I replaced it with a TP-LINK Archer C2 (AC750) wi-fi router.
I have not been able to connect my PIXMA MX532 to the wi-fi network. Actually, it connects to the SSID that I select (I have done manual as well as WPS and in both ways, the printer connects to the network) but no IP address seems to be assigned to the printer. I have several laptops, phones, media servers, connected to this network so I know that it works and is able to give out DHCP addresses.
I even tried entering the IP address manually on the printer but that doesnt seem to change anything. The pritner still doesn't connect to the network.
Please help.
Thanks
Ahmed

i just did a network setup while connected to USB and even in this case, the printer cannot get an IP address. I also tried to manually enter IP address but the printer doesnt seem to take it.
I think there is possible a TCP/IP stack problem on the printer. I am including the settings copied from the wizard.
What can be done?

What is that in bold type? It looks like your printer's IP address. Check your network security settings on your LAN, though..
03-14-2016 01:12 PM
The IP in bold is what I was trying to set manually using the USB cable because it was not able to set using DHCP from the router. Even the manual step was failing constantly as the printer just wouldn't accept TCP/IP settings.
I even went to the controls on the printer and set the IP, SM, GW manually from the onboard keyboard. The printer shows that the address was entered but when I do a printout of the current settings, the IP address section shows up blank and only DNS Server is listed.
Also of note is that when I do a Wi-Fi connection setup on the printer, it does connect to the access point and I do see the printer MAC address in the connected clients list on the router but when I look at the DHCP clients list, the printer does not show up. All the other devices (laptops, phones, servers) show up in the DHCP clients list which means the printer makes the connection at L2 but is not working properly at L3.
It seems like for some reason the TCP/IP stack on the printer is not working as it is supposed to. Both dynamic or manual.

Assign the printer a fixed IP address from your router. Make sure the printer is set for WiFi, and not USB.

I did all of that Waddizzle. I have been working in IT since the 90s so I know my way around these things.
The next thing I am going to try tonight is to turn on network sharing on my phone and connect the printer to it to see if it behaves differently and receives an IP address dynamically from the phone. Will update you.

asayani -- did you ever figure this out? I have an identical problem... seems to have been triggered by a similar router swap. Spend 2 hours on the phone with tech support to no avail. Tried everything you said too. I'm losing my mind on this.

asayani and breichgott; did you ever get this DHCP problem sorted out? I'm having the exact same problem, although it's an iP8750 printer. I've searched the net far and wide, and so far haven't found any clues that can help...
