My router does not have a physical or soft WPS button, can I still connect the printer to it?

Hi Jmic,
So that the Community can help you better, we will need to know exactly what operating system you're using. Any other details you'd like to give will also help the Community better understand your issue.
Thanks and have a great day!

I have the same question as Jmic. I will be visiting my dad over the holidays. He has a PIXMA MG3220 that he uses as a copier/scanner (he is 82 and despite my encouragement to take a class and learn, does not own a computer).
When I travel, I generally use my ancient Droid Bionic as a wi-fi hotspot. Now that dad has the printer, I would like to be able to connect through my portable wi-fi network. And, since I will be using the Droid, there is no physical WPS button to press nor is there any sort of connection indicated on the wi-fi screen..
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
