Chromebook to pixma mg 5420

I just purchased a Chromebook and cannot seem to connect it to my MG5420.

I tried adding printer, but it is not found.  I can select a printer, but thre is no choice for a MG5420 (or anything close), I have tried a USB cable, I have tried cloud printing through a different computer connected to the same network.

 

Anyone any thoughts?

Native printing of the ChromeOS does not support the PIXMA MG5420.  You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
