blurry photos on sx740

I have Canon SX740, I bought it after SX620 because I though I will make better (clearer pictures), and mainly because I wanted to make macro shots. However, they turn out very often blurry (with lot of noise and edges not sharp enough). I tried programme and manual on upper button, wtih MF macro, and with different ISO values.
Also, any photos of landscape are just full of noise and blurry, no matter if auto / programme /scene (with normal focus selected). I think my photos were better with older model of camera. What I am doing wrong? IMG_0003.JPGIMG_0065.JPG

I'm having the same problem.  I have a SX 720 HS that takes amazing pictures.  I "upgraded" to the hunk of junk that is the SX 740 HS and the pictures are crap.  I've even sent it in for repairs, and they chose to replace it rather than repair it.  I got the replacement today, and the pictures are still crap.  I hate this camera!  If you figure out how to fix this, please post.  I took my SX 720 on vacation since the 740 was in for repairs.  It's not me because the vacation photos turned out way better than anything I could expect with the 740.  I'm convinced the 740 isn't good for anything other than a paper weight.

I have this same problem! I had the SX 720 and I loved it. I recommended it to so many of my outdoorsy friends if they didn't want to carry a DSLR with them. But...I ruined it in a sandstorm on vacation. I was mid-trip, so I picked up the SX 740 when I got back to Vegas because that's all the store had in stock. The 740 is terrible and was truly a waste of money. I have long been a Canon user, from point and shoots to DSLRs (film and digital) and this is by far the worst camera I have ever used.
