I have an old "retired" Canon Power Shot SD880 IS which has some photos I would like to transfer to my 2021 MI iMac running Sonoma 14.2.1. When I connected the camera to the computer and turned it on nothing happened. When I opened up the Canon software on my hard drive a message informed me (surprise, surprise) that this software no longer works on Apple devices. When I checked the Canon website it informed me that there are no upgrades for this software as the camera is retired (though it still works perfectly well). Are my photos lost forever or is there some way I can retrieve them. Ideally I'd like to get them on my current computer but even getting them as jpegs or some other printable format on a flash drive would work.
Thanks

Your camera has no built-in internal memory. All images are stored on an SD card that is removable.
Remove the SD card and use a card reader. If there is no SD card in the camera there are no images available.
