I have 2 sd300s. The batteries are fine. The memories are fine. They can be swapped. Both take wonderful pictures. The camera with the defect will die when the switch is made to playback. Doesn't matter if not connected to a computer with the usb wire or not. What is the fix? Or can it be fixed?

yes now all you have to decide is if it's worth fixing depending on how much you like and are familiar with it and any accessories you may have bought for it.

your sure its not the batteries then there is some kind of internal problem with that camera.
On a very outside chance you can try and do a reset all to defaults tthrough the menu. But most likely it is a defect on the main board inside the camera.

Thanks for the reply. It would have to be on the main board. I swapped batteries and memory chips between both cameras.
