After several years of storage my G12 developed a strange malfunction. The view in the viewfinder is split with a portion of the bottom of the image at the top of the screen and the remainder below. Hardware problem or user correctable?

The problem is the same when viewing a live image or a already recorded image.

If you have fully charged the battery, then I would suggest that you contact Canon at 1-800-OK-CANON to talk to their tech people.
