Powershot Elph 115 IS won't flash.

I have had the camera for a little over a year and it has worked great up until last month. The flash is set to "auto" but will not fire. I have tried turning the flash off and back on and still nothing. I have also factory reset the camera. There is also no option for flash to stay "on" like there used to be, the only options now are "auto" and "off". Is there anyway to fix this at home? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Is the camera maybe set to AUTO mode rather than Program mode? (I don't have this camera, but those settings sometimes casue the observed behavior in other cameras.)

I have tried both auto and program modes. Flash does not fire in any setting.
