I took 4 photos with no memory card installed, before noticing the "no memory card" message. Are they saved somewhere internal to the camera, and if so how to access them?

Unfortunately, the photos are not save within the camera when there is no memory card installed.

I suggest you read the manual for the camera to see how it operates.

Your camera may have a setting that prevents it from taking photos with no memory card inside. This would be good to set to avoid similar situation in the future.

The camera isn't "taking pictures" if there's no memory card in it. The shutter still activates, though, but nothing is recorded.
