Ash06,

It appears to be an authentic camera, but I don't know what kind.

I agree. It is an authentic Canon-something, as the label says. What does it say on the front?  Why do you have the back flipped up?

I am not aware of any Canon consumer cameras that have a flip screen hinge at top. It’s always on the side, AFAIK.

Ash, why do you think it's not "authentic"?

For those that don't know what model it is, I'm pretty sure it is a Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II.

Newton,

I think you're absolutely right.

@Ash06

Please provide the back story on this camera.  You purchased it from (where)?  If you purchased from a Canon Authorized Dealer, it's likely authentic.  When when you buy from a 3rd party or marketplace authenticity can be hit or miss.

You're not looking at a flip-up rear screen. Appears to be a partially-removed back.

I don’t know if I should purchase this is the picture sent to me when I ask for the serial number.

It’s off of marketplace and it makes me a little nervous. Yes you are right on the model!
