Hi!
I've always used the USB cable to download the photos to my computer. All of a sudden, it won't work anymore (a "communication error" message appears on the camera display). I have bought a new cable online, which will arrive in a few days, so I'll try again when it gets here.
Meanwhile, I have tried to connect via wi-fi and it won't work either. I have a Wintows 10 PC. I installed the CameraWindow software, then I set up the camera wi-fi name and connected the to my home wi-fi, to which my computer is also connected. The camera won't find the computer when when I try to add a device. And when I open the CameraWindow software, it says there's no camera connected.

Hi julia_g16,
CameraWindow is software we stopped updating awhile back. Due to that it is not compatible with current Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers. That software will not work correctly on your computer, so you will not be able to use it to connect your camera through wifi.
If a new USB cable doesn't resolve the issue we would recommend using a USB card reader. With a card reader you would take the memory card out of the camera, load it into the card reader, open the card on your computer, and then drag and drop the photos and videos into folders on your computer. We do not make card readers through Canon, so there aren't any specific card readers we would be able to recommend.
