Func/set button not working on IXUS 980 IS

Hello, I really wanted a digital camera to take vintage photos of my Junior and senior years so I took my sister’s old cannon IXUS 980 IS which she got in 2009 I think..I charged it’s battery and it worked and I took few photos with it but when I tried deleting the unnecessary photos I couldn’t because the func/set button won’t work and it feels very hard, I am so disappointed because I was really excited about it, could it be fixed by a camera tech or something:(?
