I have a PowerShot A4000 IS. It came with a cable that allowed me to hook it into my MacBook. I am guessing the end that connected to the camera is a USB 2.0 mini Type B plug (five position). The other end is a USB 2.0 type A plug.
I recently purhcased a new MacBook. It only has lightning connections. What cable do I need to connect my PowerShot to my new MacBook?

Have you tried doing a web search? Apple makes an adapter. " Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter "

An adapter! Silly me. I was thinking about purchasing a whole new cable. Is this what you are suggesting?

Lightning or USB-C? most of the new ones are USB-C - make sure you get the right one. USB-C is oval, while lightning is pretty square.

Or I could buy it directly from Apple:
