Canon Powershot V10 webcam audio issue

Audio recording is fine onto the SD card. However when recording via webcam audio comes out all garbled - especially with music (voice is intelligible). I have this on both windows and Mac so it is probably not a driver issue? Is there a setting I am missing?

Thanks for the reply can you list out the questions here it is not convenient for me to call in. Is there is some noise cancelling algorithm when recording over a webcam that prioritizes voice recording? As voice seems to get recorded my but music is distorted.
