Greetings,

I can't tell fron your post what the issue is.

The 3418 error indicates failure to communicate with the mailserver.

Then below you say, "when I do the connection test is suceed" which is contradictory, or not clear, sorry.

Try port 587 (TLS)

Hi Rick,

under the line 'set mail server' into the config I have an option 'test connection to mail server' and this test is ok.

I tried wuith the port 457, same result test ok but code 3418 on the printer, must I restart the printer after a change to the config ?

thanks

Canon Scan-to-email Error 3418 with Gmail

The problem really is that Gmail requires authentication.

So after creating a Gmail account and email address for your printer, open the printer UI and fill in as per the manual.

Outgoing Mail server = smtp.gmail.com

Port Number = 465

SSL = Yes

SMTP Authentication = Yes

Press OK

Go back to your Gmail

In 'Manage your Google Account - Security',  Setup 2 step Verification

Now set up an App Password for you printer.

Generate the password and copy, then paste it into the Printer UI Outgoing password.

OK
