I am really struggling to fix my Imageclass MF229dw. The printer is on a wired network and works perfectly but the I get an error with the Canon MF toolbox when I try to scan. It indicated the scanner can not be found. I had the same issue on my laptop that uses the exact same version of Win 11 and I reinstalled the scanner driver and it now works. Nothing I try seems to work for the desktop. I must have erased and re-installed the drivers about 6 times. Checked the firewall, all is identical to setting on the laptop that works perfectly. Canon no longer supports this printer and I really don't want to purchase another when it works perfectly on another computer with the same Win 11 pro. If anyone can help, please let me know. Does Canon have a paid technical support option?

It's clearly a problem. On another computer at another location, running Windows 11 24H2 which is the version reputed to have all the scanner problems, needing only a scanner I opted for a competitor's scanner. It installed on a USB connection with no problems at all. This computer running 23H2 took hours to get installed and running.

OMG, I just thought of something to try and it worked!!!!! In one of the 50 times I tried to address the issue, I noticed that during the Canon install that it indicated all the scanner drivers were installed. However, when I went to use the Canon install again it would say the printer drivers were installed but not the scanner drives. So in thinking about what you had me do, i decided to run the Canon install several time only installing the scanner driver. I just did that now and it works!!!! WOW I AM SO HAPPY. Again, thanks so much for your help!!!! Praying that it stays this way!!! I have not rebooted yet so hopefully this success is not short lived!

I've been using my 2015 MF229dw wirelessly for printing and scanning. I just bought a new laptop so I could upgrade to Windows 11. Everything is different with Settings in Windows 11. It took a while just to connect the printer in order to print; but scanning is another hurdle. I managed to install the Toolbox app and it found the scanner. But I followed the thread with FLC but I don't see it in the Windows lists of devices and scanners. What am I missing?
