mf644cdw toner tray stuck

My new printer is out of toner. I open the front panel, pull the handle and the right side of the tray won't release.

I ended up calling Canon tech support and they were amazing! After some troubleshooting they sent out a new printer.

I'm having the same issue - I guess I'm glad it's not just me.  Has anyone figured this out?
