mf624cw top loader won't load

jpdigi
Apprentice

Trying to use the top loader of the copier function.  The paper gets grabbed and pulled in a little but then stops and the screen reads there is a jam. The paper pulls right back out from the top but never loads.

Any ideas on how to get the paper to fully load so I can use the top load function?

Thanks.

Hi jpdigi.

If the paper is jamming in the Automatic Document Feeder, check the paper you're scanning for any staples, paper clips, or other additions.  If the paper has any folds or creases, try to flatten out the creases before scanning.

If the paper still jams, make sure you're only usin the document feeder for plain paper (letter size or legal).  Thicker papers will need to be scanned from the platen.

If uncreased, unstapled, unclipped plain paper is jamming in the document feeder, try using a clean, dry cloth to clean the rollers and then scanning again.

Thank you for the help.  After further inspection with a very bright flashlight, I found pieces of paper that were stuck in the rollers.  I have to use an Xacto knife to take the pieces of paper out of the rollers and now all is well!

Thank you again!
