imageClass MF4770n cannot scan via network on macOS Sonoma 14.7.2 (23H311) and windows 11

Hello,

I have a Canon imageClass MF4770n multi-function laser printer. It is connected via network. I was able to scan previously with the network scanner to my macbook. Now when I set the MF4770n to Remote Scanner on the device controls the MF Scan Utility on mac OS Sonoma 14.7.2 and Windows 11 says the Scanner cannot be found.

On macOS Sonoma, the Canon MF Toolbox  shows no application window screen when going to menu: MF Toolbox > Network Scanner Settings. A window does appear if I go to MF Toolbox > About MF Toolbox Version 2.15.17 (2.15.17)

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the latest MF Scan package with no change.

On Windows 11 the scanner does show up in Canon MF Network Scan Utility and is checked, but in MF Toolbox it says "Cannot communicate with the scanner. The cable may be disconnected, or the scanner may be turned off. Check the scanner status and try again. Scanner driver will be terminated."

Printing works fine on macOS and Win.

I'd like to be able to use the scan function via network.

I'm able to scan to Win 11 via USB.

I'm NOT able to scan to macOS via USB.

I followed the uninstall instructions from Canon MF Utility: https://oip.manual.canon/USRM2-6463-zz-DR-enUV/contents/dmu-inst-uninst.html#mug_inst_uninst

Delete the files of the driver to uninstall in the [Library] folder of macOS.

Applications/Canon MF Utilities
Library/Application Support/Canon/ScanGear MF
Library/Application Support/Canon/WMCLibrary.framework
Library/Application Support/Canon/WMCReg.plist
Library/Image Capture/Devices/Canon MFScanner****.app
Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources/Canon ****.ds
Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources/Canon **** USB.ds
Library/LaunchAgents/jp.co.canon.ScanGearMF.appl.Canon-MF-Scan-Agent.plist
Library/LaunchAgents/jp.co.canon.ScanGearMF.appl.Canon-MFSU-Agent.plist
Library/Printers/Canon/MFScanner

If a confirmation dialog is displayed, enter an administrator name and password and click [OK].
The name represented by "****" varies according to the device.
Depending on the environment you are using, some or all of the folders and files listed above may not be present.

After re-installing the MF Scan package, I'm now able to get the Network Scanner Settings window to appear. Also there is a scan feature in macOS through System Preference > Printer & Scanners > MF4770n > Open Scanner > which open Image Capture and the MF4770n is selectable.
