Hi,
I setup my printer for "email to print" so I can email a PDF or DOC file to the printer and have it printed. I setup the POP and SMTP accounts properly and created a special printer email address on my email server, and verified that I can Scan and send to an external email. However when I send a PDF to the printer via the printer email address, the email and PDF is received - I can see it in the Rx Job Log of the web UI - but it does not print and shows an Error Code #818 which is: "The received data is not in a printable file format". According to the "remedy" for this I am supposed to "Ask the sender to change the file format and resend the data". This does not make sense since it is a PDF which is an acceptable format. I verified that the PDF is not corrupted and also sent a PDF as an attachment from several different email accounts, all with the same error.
Help Please!!! I need this to work and can't find any answers on the web. Has anyone got this to work?
Thanks!
Meghan

Hi Stephen, I did, twice. They just closed my case with 0 additional information than, the tiff format is wrong and we cannot provide a valid tiff file for testing.
I raised several tickets (even in my enterprise ) to vendors. This is possibly the worst support I ever got. And I now just gave up, considering that this fax feature is just not working and is just advertised for sale

Hello! We're Canon USA. We can only support products sold and used in the United States. You mentioned previously that you have the "Canon650MF," which I can only assume is the i-SENSYS MF650. That unit is only sold in Europe.
If you are in the USA with a model our team supports, please call technical support at 1-800-652-2666 during regular business hours so they can troubleshoot with you by phone.

You are right. It was canon Europe.
Nothing personal. I will just live without the possibility to mail to print. The canon printer is doing much other things good. I was just frustrated by the lack of empathy of the canon EU support.
if you find a solution (seems I’m not the only struggling here), I’ll read it here with pleasure.
thanks
