I just purchased the MF656C printer/scanner to replace an 8+ year old Brother. I scan quite a bit, and a lot of times I will scan items that will not fit well in the ADF and would make multiple scans into one PDF. I would like the scanner to put each individual scan into the one PDF. My Brother scanner would ask me "Next Page" yes or no and if I didn't hit an option, would default to no after a few seconds. If I hit yes, it would prompt me to put the next page in and hit Ok. It would then take all the scans where used the yes to do another page and put them into one PDF. I can't seem to find a way to do this. Surely there must be a way to do this on the Canon. I would hope Canon would have a way to do something that a 8+ year old scan would do.

I just noticed that when I do a B&W scan, it gives me the option for Scan Next and Finish. I worked with it and it scanned multiple pages that way. I see the options when I do Color scan, but they are grayed out and then the screen disappears and stops the scan. Seems like the option is there, but needs to be enabled on Color scan. Can't seem to find where to enable it.

Greetings,
Are you scanning and saving as jpeg or PDF?
I'm not with my printer at the moment but when I get home, I can figure it out for you. I almost always use the ADF but the option should exist for the platen.
Please open the MF scan utility on your computer. Click settings in the upper left hand corner. Now look in the upper left hand corner (again) and click the second tab which is the printer icon. Changes made here affect the LCD panel options on the printer. The first icon "computer" changes the default behavior on your computer. The second tab "printer" is used to modify behavior on the printer's LCD. To reset the changes, press the default button at the bottom of the dialogue.

Thanks, I think I have it figured out. I was assuming the color scan was going to a PDF, but looks like it was defaulting to JPG. Once I changed it to PDF, it worked the same as B&W.
