imageCLASS MF656Cdw Scanning from printer offers fewer options than on computer

I tried scanning with my new printer and while I'm able to do what i want, i feel like there is something i'm missing, it cannot be that inconvenient...

Scanning from the pc with the MF tool is fine, you can choose the options you want.

But scanning from the device itself from the control panel? Seems very difficult...

Ex: when you chose to scan to USB, all options are there, you can choose the right settings and scan. When you choose to scan to computer, most options are gone and you cant choose 2-sided scan. Am i missing something?

You could edit the default settings, but it means you cant choose. And using the 2 custom settings could be good, but since you cant rename them you have to remember what each of them is doing.

I thought this would be easy and that my wife would also be able to use the machine without having to go on the PC, open the software, etc.

Greetings ,

I think you'll find that the options you are looking for are available if you scroll down the lists of available settings when selecting your scan options.  Take a look and let us know if that helps.

Not sure what you mean...
Scan
   - USB
     ...
   - Computer
        - Only one computer to chose
              - Color : no sub menu. Color can be selected, but there are no settings. Looks like settings can only be changed via the MF utility
              - Black & White
              - Custom 1
              - Custom 2
