imageCLASS MF642Cdw Main Printing Paper Tray Not Being Detected

I have a color imageclass mf642cdw that apparently will not detect the main paper tray. Even when I select that #1 paper tray on the computer's printing interface, it still doesn't see it. It's full of paper and I have pulled it out and put it back in multiple times. Also, it shows as empty on the display.

Hello?!?!?!

The Canon Community isn't intended for immediate assistance from Canon USA, but rather for other Canon users to chime in and help if they have the answers.

If your question is of an urgent nature, please feel free to check out your support options HERE.

Thanks, but I've been all over that help page and I just go around in circles. There's no way to actually reach a tech support human.

Hi Chris3000, did you ever get an answer to your question? I'm having the same issue with an MF465dw

No, I have not. I can't reach Canon tech support. Our IT guy spent 30 minutes fidling with settings & firmware, and the problem still persists. I'm starting to think that the best solution is to just buy a non-canon printer.

I don't know who you're calling, but I have never had a problem reaching Canon tech support.

Hi, Chris3000!  Our imageCLASS support team is easy to reach.  They're open Monday through Friday at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666).

We look forward to your call!

I didn't call anyone, I went to the support site & followed links for 20 minutes that kept leading me back to where I started. And in all that time, I obviously never saw a support phone number or I would have called it.

This should be interesting, thanks.
