imageCLASS MF451dw sometimes scanning colorful lines

Our printer/scanner Canon Imageclass MF451dw, when scanning through the feeder, frequently acts up. The documents scan completely, but every second page there is often this rainbow of colors superimposed over everything. Less often, it scans perfectly. Help!

Th issue looks like it is being caused by a hardware issue. It looks like there is a loose connection for the scanner element or it is starting to fail. To check your service options, you can contact support over the phone at 1-800-652-2666 or log into your My Canon account.
