Stopped - 'Filter' failed

Printer: Canon iR-ADV C5550/5560

MacOS: 10.15.7

 

Devices running Catalina get the error message from the subject line when trying to print. I'm using the most recent recommended driver here:

I have also tried the steps detailed in this post about the same problem to no avail:

Any ideas?

I am having the same issue "Stopped - 'Filter' failed" with certain PDF files.  Very frustrating.  

 

I am also running MacOS: 10.15.7 - catalina.

 

Any suggestions beyond the delete and re-add printer?

First Canon printer.  Hopefully not the last. 

I am having the same problem "Filter failed" with both of my printers  MF 4350d and MF8300 CW  help!!
