I am having a problem with my 16 year old, Canon personal copier, PC170
I am getting a white band running the length of the page and also a number of black specks of various sizes scattered throughout the page. I went through the cleaning process and shaking the toner cartridge all to no avail. The toner was almost out so I bought a new $124 Black Canon cartridge. I tried the new cartridge and it improved the faded look I had been getting with my old cartridge. It did nothing however for the white band and black specks. I also took the cartridge out and shook it up again but still no change.
I am a senior and would really appreciate any help or tips you can give me to help me solve this problem.
Thank you.

While our Forum Community members are welcome to chime in, the Canon PC170 has been retired. That means we do not offer support for the printer or updated drivers. We recommend updating to a more modern copier.
